I love teaching maths. I have 15 years experience of teaching in secondary schools in the UK, mostly in challenging settings. I have been lead practitioner (school maths leader), head of department and director of maths and numeracy. Students call me; inspiring, motivating, energetic, fun, knowledgeable, caring, supportive and dedicated. Not to mention the “dad jokes”! Students often tell me they understood things for the first time. I’d break things down as simply as possible and build confidence from there - whether you need basic numeracy right up to A-level. My GCSE and A-level results have always been excellent. Irrespective of background or target grade, all I look for in my students is engagement and a commitment to work with me - in other words, to “meet me halfway”.
