Good Physics Tutor – Philip Goodfellow

I am a specialist Physics tutor with over 40 years of teaching experience, helping students build confidence and achieve success in GCSE and A-Level Physics. As a Chartered Physicist (CPhys) and Member of the Institute of Physics (MInstP), I bring both subject expertise and extensive classroom experience to every lesson.

My approach is structured, supportive and highly personalised. Rather than relying on one-size-fits-all methods, I identify gaps in understanding, tackle misconceptions, and help students develop the knowledge, problem-solving skills and study habits needed for long-term success. Physics is a subject that builds on prior understanding, so I focus on creating secure foundations before moving on to more advanced topics.

Lessons are available online via Microsoft Teams and OneNote, or in person in Essex. Students receive clear explanations, worked examples, guided practice and regular opportunities to apply their learning to examination-style questions. I also support students with revision planning, effective independent study techniques and preparation for GCSE and A-Level examinations.

Many of my students achieve significant improvements in both confidence and grades, whether they are aiming to secure a pass, improve a target grade, or prepare for competitive university applications.
