I think that colleagues would describe me as a patient and nurturing teacher. I often choose to teach a support-set knowing that I'll get the best from them, and many will achieve the highest grades. So it has been. I am passionate about teaching English Language and Literature. Currently I am working with Pearson, and we have taught the Pearson Edexcel iGCSE course at my school.

While I love my GCSE classes, I get as much joy out of teaching junior classes and watching their skill-set grow over the course of a year. English is also a catalyst for conversations about big life issues, and I think my pupils enjoy these lessons as much as I do. We love nothing better than getting stuck into some Shakespeare or a Victorian novel.

I have frequently supported EAL pupils and enjoy doing so. Their drive and commitment to doing well is their strength, and it is always a pleasure to support them: watching their progress as they reach for their GCSE target grades.
